This year, I’m doing Thanksgiving my way: with a LOT of food. And when I say a lot, I mean to say that I am having four Thanksgiving dinners, all with different people and with different kinds of food! Of course, there will be a new post on all of these shenanigans later this week.
Last night, I arrived at home around dinnertime and we ate some Filipino dishes that my mom prepared. Kare kare, puto, and white rice made at appearance at Thanksgiving dinner #1. Good friends all came to my house right when I got home to celebrate with us, chat, and even dance. It was a wonderful night filled with sparkling cider and good cheer!
Today, I’m headed out to Staunton (a mountain town in Virginia) to visit with some family members and eat a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner. Cue the turkey, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, and of course, gravy.
Tomorrow, after some Black Friday shopping, I’ll be going to the southern area of Richmond for a family gathering with some relatives on my father’s side of the family. They’re amazing cooks and their food is usually very healthy too!
And Saturday, I’ll be having a dinner with my dad!
More importantly, I’d like to thank the things and people that have made my year (and this blog) what it is now. Because of these things, I have a new-found passion that I know will carry on for years to come.
Travel. Because without travel, this blog would not exist and I would not be so passionate about it!
Other travel bloggers, because they inspire me so much with their words and their kindness.
Delicious food, because I am the biggest food junkie ever and I, literally, couldn’t live without it.
Adventures, because they are the bulk of what I write about and make each day exciting.
You! Without my readers, this blog would be merely an online journal for me to remember things on my own. However, it is because of my readers that I have the ability to inspire more and more people to travel, explore and learn. So here’s a big THANK YOU to all of my readers for being the very best people in the world.
As you can see from my list, I am also thankful for today, because every day is better, brighter, and more beautiful than the last. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
